We would like to see a dedicated purchase order field for the "SHIP TO" customer.  We currently use either the "COUNTRY" field or the "ATTENTION" field, but many times those areas need to be used.  It would be best to move the "BILL TO" purchase order field up under their name/address area and add the "SHIP TO" purchase order field under their name.

You can do this yourself with the Modify Forms selection under File on the menu line.

Open the appropriate .RTM file.
Select the info you want to copy.
Copy and then past this field were you want it.
Change font size, font face, etc.
Add a text description if you want.

Save the RTM.

I've done this to put Bar coded SO #'s on packing lists.

I have never before had somebody want 2 PO fields for the same order - one from the Bill To customer and one from the Ship-to.  What industry is this common in?

We are receiving orders from some of our wholesale customers with instructions to "drop-ship" to one of their retail customers. It is then that we need 2 PO# fields. Currently we abuse the job number field and renamed the description in the RTM to reflect the fact that it is the drop-ship (or ship-to) PO#.
A seperate field would be greatly appreciated.

We manufacture industrial tooling. Many times the distributors we sell to want us to drop ship to the end user which requires their PO# to be used.  I would say 50-60% of our orders are done this way.  This is very common in our industry and most of the software used allows for this.  This has always been one of our biggest complaints about DBA since we started using it back in '97

It certainly makes sense when you describe it that way but this is the first time anybody ever complained about it to me.  Let me see if there is anyplace in the Sales Order file we could store it.

We'll kick in our support for this need. We manufacture a lot of items where our customer (Sold To) is an OEM, but where we ship directly to the end user -i.e. our customer's customer. More often than not,  the end user's shipping instructions will call for their PO number on all packing slips, so that number has to appear in the SHIP TO area someplace.
Like the other people mentioned here, we use some other field for that, or crowd it into the Attention: field.

I'll have to agree that a ship to PO would be very helpful.

I checked with our sales people, and found out that they, too, often
put a drop ship customers PO # in the attention line.

A seperate string field would be useful.  As it stands now,
that additional PO information ends up in the Attention area
on the UPS Labels that come out of our CPS shipping software.
The shipping people usually end up having to edit the attention so
that it comes out looking ok on the Label.

I would also like to see this field.  We drop-ship to a few customers and would find a ship-to PO # field useful.

Well it's been a couple of years now and this hasn't made it into an upgrade so what would it take ($$) to get this accomplished.  It looks like there are others out there that could use this also.

we have this request on occasion as well.  it would be nice to have that option.
