Title: T7 Inventory
Post by kkmfg on 02/07/07 at 06:42:40

I had people here try out the T7 version of IN-A to see what they thought. Here are the issues (other than hating tabbed view) that they had:

-Sometimes the quantity available lies. There are parts that are on sales orders but the quantity summary says 0 for quantity on sales orders. That's a lie. Clicking the SO button tells a different (and correct) story.

-When you click the SO button to find out which SO(s) need this part: It used to (in prior versions) show the customer's name too. They liked that because it saved them from having to look up the customer in the sales order area. I suppose that a drill down query could be used for this but it seems like something that should be there from the start.

-They can find no way to determine which SO(s) have this part as a back order. In the older versions this information was easy to obtain.

I agree with all those issues, that is why I fixed them. It will be in our next release (in a day or two)

Yes, A lot of little issues that were in the first release of the T7 screens have been cleaned up, including links.

We have an issue where the cost rollup button does nothing in IN-A, but it does appear to work in IN-B.  Both are the T7 versions.

IN-A should not have the button at all.

There's an icon in the lower left corner of the screen when you are in IN-A and on the Costs tab that allows you to rollup standard costs. I don't know how to paste in an image otherwise I'd show you the print screen to prove it.

I'm not using the new stuff much and I much prefer having all the data on one screen, at least for now, but I don't see how to get to the specs in IN-A in the "DBA style" view. Another problem is using tiny icons along the bottom of the window that we don't recognize. I suppose we will learn over time but I thought text labels or buttons were better.

Steve,

T7INA Classic view, you are right, I forgot to add the specs button .. I'll have a patch for it today..

As for the text buttons, The screen is not big enough for me to put text buttons and have all the options there.
The glyph buttons do have hints,so if you place the mouse over the buttons it will pop up the text..
