Title: Vendor items gone part 2
Post by cmsk on 04/04/07 at 05:02:05

I don't know what's going on, but when I try to reply to this topic:

http://www.istechforum.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1173207095

It hoses my browser -- every single time.

Anyway, as a follow up response to my original and subsequent postings, my problem seems to have been fixed by applying the ISTECH patch AREPOA from here http://www.istechsupport.com/status.asp  posted on 3/6/07.  I don't honestly remember how I even came along this "patch" link (I think it may have been in a support update e-mail from Lynn at some point after my initial posting in this topic; not a specific e-mail to my question, to be clear), but I tried the patch and it seemed to take care of things.  I do apologize for not replying at the time with my findings.  Caulk it up to being a tad put off by not getting a response letting me/us know about the patch and stumbling across the solution accidently, and then getting lost on to other issues.

I wasn't aware of this patch link being regularly updated, but now I have it saved and check it from time to time.  I hope my findings help some others.

I updated long after that patch was posted and assumed (well, not really, since it says it right there in black and white) that all of the patched were incorporated into the update as they came out.

I will try it and report back.

No difference.

Perhaps I'm having a different problem.

The UPDATE was several weeks PRIOR to the PATCH.  From what I understand of this 'patch link,' the patches are minor updates that don't require the entire UPDATE process -- you just copy over the included files and they supersede what was updated, during the previous UPDATE.

Someone please confirm or correct / clarify.

BTW, this PATCH link really NEEDS to be posted on the ISTECHSUPPORT home page for everyone to see.  Otherwise, unless you received the specific e-mail stating it, no one will know about it!!!

Well I, certainly do NOT know enough about the specific files to help out much here.  :(

Well, the patches are on the page that you go to when you click on the IS Tech Support logo inside Evo. That has been reported a number of times, but it is not very intuitive. A prominent link on the home page would be very helpful.

The update page says that all of the patches were rolled into the 2/14/07 update as of 3/16/07. Since I updated after 3/16 I did not need to install any of the patches. I verified that all of the patches are in the update that I downloaded and installed on 3/23/07.

The problem that I still have is that the vendor part numbers are not connected to the vendor lookup screen from IN-A, nor do they print on the PO.

Learn something new everyday it seems: I didn't know about the IS Tech Logo link in EVO and apparently, I never received the e-mail for the 3/16/07 update -- I guess I need to contact Lynn.  Now I follow what you were saying before.

It sounds like a similar issue to what we were seeing, but as I said, the patch seemed to fix it... Hopefully the UPDATE won't mess us all up again.

Ok, Thanks goes out to Tim at Cee Jay Tools, He reports that in the New INB if you press the CLEAR button while creating a new part then pressing clear again deletes the entire SBVEND file. (Don't try this at home kids) I will verify and fix it and have a patch out soon.

Thank you Tim.

There was a 2/14/07 update, nothing since.

I downloaded the 2/14/07 update on 3/27/07

If you were to download the 2/14/07 update right now, it has all of the subsequent patches incorporated (every patch issued up thru 3/16/07). That way, people like me who wait a few weeks before updating our live systems don't have to install all of the patches after installing the update, just so long as we download the update fresh when we are ready to install.

I reinstalled the back copy of BKSBVEND.B and fixed the problem. The file was there but it was double in size and no records were visible in TAS-D.

Interesting bug.

It seems to be a combo of the patch and this file.  I tried restoring just this file and it didn't work, but when I applied the patch, it did.

BTW, I STILL can't reply or post to the other topic?!?!?!?!

Good to hear you got things back in sync... sorta.

Looks like Colin found this as well... Step away from the CLEAR button!!!

You are saying that you have installed the 4/9/07 patch and this still happens? What is the date on the T7INB.RWN file in your DBAMFG or EVOERP directory?

Well I saw a new one today. Purchasing said that the PN's were gone again. I looked at BKSBVEND with MDB and I had 876 records. After restoring the file I have 1662 records. I had lost portions of the file in no particular order. Not all one vendor or any pattern I could see.

I will install the patch and see what happens after that.
