Title: EDI Post by tcobb on 05/04/07 at 10:47:19 I'm trying to gather info about EDI for incoming orders. The "help" info in EVO referred me to www.ebuspo.com which doesn't exist according to google. Does anyone do this sucessfully? What is involved in getting this setup? Opinions of "CanDo EDI software? Any info will be appreciated. Thanks! |
Title: Re: EDI Post by GasGiant on 05/04/07 at 14:02:43 We are developing (and have working) a variation where we insert online orders into the EDI order table when they are submitted via web page. Order Customer Service people get a printed copy of the web order, which they then open in the EDI order section, complete it, and convert it to a Sales Order. The same concept could be used for any orders submitted electronically. Specifying a format and parsing the file is fairly easy. Inserting an order into the proper tables is straight forward. I'll try to remember to post a HOWTO about orders next week. |
Title: Re: EDI Post by Lynn_Pantic on 05/04/07 at 18:46:11 www.usiedi.com is another alternatve to CandoEdi. In a nutshell, DBA/Evo can import orders and export invoices usng the data map at www.istechsupport.com/freedl.asp but most times there needs to be another interpretation step in the process. |

<Sarcasm> Yeah, that UsiEdi is just great. I mean go to their site. It's the most impressive thing I've seen in ages! </sarcasm> I think they've gone out of business or something... Also, don't go to their site. Google things it's loaded with spyware. |
Title: Re: EDI Post by Lynn_Pantic on 05/07/07 at 16:46:29 UsiEdi is still in business but they are moving and completely redoing their site. |

Well, that's great for them but what should their customers think? It's terribly unprofessional to just drop off of the Earth for a while. Their current website is akin to calling up ISTech and finding that the phone # now belongs to a Psychic Hotline. At this point I'd stay way away from these people even if I were looking for an EDI solution. We'll see how long they stay in business with decisions like this! <rant> For what it's worth: LEAVE YOUR darnED WEBSITE UP WHEN YOU ARE MOVING AND REDESIGNING THE SITE. </rant> There, I feel better now. :) |
