Title: Missing, partially missing part?
Post by gtladmin on 06/14/07 at 11:00:47

In BM-C for a specific part (we'll call itemA) when you print the report you get an error at line 9 that says "warning:  (itemb) was not found in the inventory file bkicmstr".  You click on OK, and the report prints to screen up to where itemb should be, and nothing after that.  In the test company, the full report prints w/o error and includes itemb.

When you use IN-A to lookup itemA, then click on "where used", then drill down on the first parent part from the BM-C report, you can see in the list itemb--but there's no part description listed......hmmm..

When you use IN-A to lookup itemb, you get only partial info on the screen--you can see standard cost, bin loc, drawing #, lead time, cycle code, primary vendor, but the part number and the description do not show.  All the fields that do show data have been verified to belong to itemb, but you do not see itemb when you do a full inventory lookup--it's just not in the listing.   :-?

So the fact that it's pulling some of the inventory record for itemb from somewhere even though the part does not show in the inventory listing is very weird. We don't want to re-add the part in this case unless we're sure it's not going to mess things up. How do we go about tracing this issue and fixing the problem?

Thanks,

Val

When was the last time you ran SM-J-C?

The last time we ran it was very early this year, when we switched off of fifo/lifo.  It has not been run since then according to the finance dept., who are the ones to run that utility.

Why do you ask?  We thought you normally don't run that unless you have some problems.

off the top of my head I would look and see if you have the same issue you did for the duplicate part. Item B in BKICMSTR but not in MTICMSTR.

ahhhhh sooooo, veeely goood, weedhopper.....item b does NOT exist in BKICMSTR, but it IS in MTICMSTR.

How did you know that?

He writes the %#$^$ code - if he doesn't know, we are ALL in big trouble...   :P

geez, I kinda figured if he knew that it would exist in one and not the other, he'd know why it was happening..... ;)

Hi Lynn,

I did that actually last week to both files (mentioned in one of my other posts from 6/14) and it didn't correct those similar problems.  I believe we've only started seeing this since the last update.  I based that belief on the fact that if we check our test companies, which were re-created just after the last update was applied and before anyone started using Evo with the new updates, these issues do not exist, which I find interesting.

Any other ideas????

Val
