Title: Users screen Post by cathyh on 06/14/07 at 13:28:25 I am still having repeated problems with programs clearing from this screen when said programs are no longer being used. I try to use this screen, for instance, when I am going to update the Business Status- I want to check to be sure no one is entering PO Invoices or Checks or doing anything in the General Ledger. Or if I need everyone out of programs so that I can freeze inventory, or run SM-J-C, I would like to be able to check this screen. Since the list is not accurate it's not much help. Any chance this will be fixed in the near future? |

Title: Re: Users screen Post by gtladmin on 08/17/07 at 07:59:41 A better utility to use (because of this issue with the screen not truly reflecting the status of users) is the Pervasive Monitor Utility. You can see by the user what they have open in Evo, or you can see by the file what users have it open, so you can see if anyone is in Purchase orders or whatever, and be really sure people are out of something before you try to do your work. Title: Re: Users screen Post by cathyh on 08/17/07 at 09:42:59 Yes, I can go to the server and have the Pervasive info but other Evo users do not have access to that. Some of them rely on the users screen to know when they can run MRP, or JC-E, etc. |
Title: Re: Users screen Post by gtladmin on 08/23/07 at 13:19:51 Cathy, you can configure a Window network like NetWare (what I use) to allow a group called "Pervasive_Admin" users rights to run the monitor utility. By default anybody with admin rights on the server is automatically given Pervasive Admin rights, but a normal user cannot run the util. So you have to create a group on the domain controller called Pervasive_Admin and add users to that group. The database engine will check to be sure the user is a member of this group before runnnig the utility. Just add the users who need this utility to the group, do not add everyone. It isn't necessary. Val |
