Title: EVO Workstation setup
Post by PhippsBird on 08/15/07 at 11:33:36

I am installing Evoerp to one of our workstations and I receive an error that the workstation has a mis-matched engine.  I follow the on screen installation instructions, but the error continues to occur.  Anyone with some ideas for me?

Thank you, Pattie

This was in a previous thread, and I'll quote it here for you.  See if it helps!

[quote author=kkmfg link=1180979747/0#1 date=1180989369]That happened to me on one machine. Seems like the thing to do is to manually copy the files from the network folder EvoERP is in to your local C:\ISTS folder. Here are the files I would transfer at a minimum:

EvoERP.exe
Tp7Runtime.exe

If that doesn't work and you don't need to keep your local settings you could delete the ISTS folder and rerun evo from the network and it should recreate your ISTS folder for you with the up to date runtime.

Anyway, that worked for me. I think I just basically copied over every file from the EvoERP folder that was also in the ISTS folder. But I think the above two files should be all you really need.

HTH,

Val

Oh, how I wish those two things worked!!!!!  Unfortunately, I did follow those previous post suggestions with no success.  Any other ideas out there?

Thank you, Pattie

Thats.... weird... Have you tried deleting your ISTS directory, rebooting, and trying the install again? There should be no way that that would not fix a mismatched engine error. So if it doesn't then I suggest you get a sharp oak stake, some holy water, and a few cloves of garlic.

Yes - I deleted it from the workstation rebooted and then created a new folder on C:\ stuck a file in it and held my breath . . .  nothing.  Still a "mis-matched engine".  I am following up on an email from Lynn regarding modification dates.  If this (when this) works, I will post my results.

Thank you. . .  Pattie

The solution was found when Lynn had me check the modification dates of the referenced files then she had me correct  them as dicussed below:

From Lynn:

"The 8/15 date is invalid.  Delete the EVOERP.EXE and take the TP7RUNTIME.EXE dated 5/2/07 and make a copy and name it EVOERP.EXE so you have both files with 5/2 dates everywhere.  TP7RUNTIME.EXE and EVOERP.EXE are simply copies of one another and they need to match.

More to the point, a modified date of yesterday on an EXE is highly suspicious.  You do not have any program that can edit an EXE so it might be a virus."

Thanks to you all!  Pattie

I am now having runtime problems on one workstation.  In several modules when exiting the module it says:  Information  updating to newer runtime.  Then the ISTECH splash screen comes up and then it goes away.  This just started today on this computer.  We have been on the 8/16/07 build for some time now and have not done any recent updates.

I checked evoerp.exe and the TP7RUNTIME.EXE on the C:\ISTS directory and they are correct and match the 5/2/07 modified date.

What else do I need to check?  Thanks
