We are interested in getting Crystal Reports and I'm looking for feedback.

Would someone with no training in Crystal Reports be able to create reports?
Is training recomended? or Trial and Error work better?
How difficult is it to implement?
Overall do you love it, hate it, or it's ok.

Yes, you can generate reports without training.

My recommendation is to start using CR without training, and then follow up with training when you think you're getting the hang of it.

Almost nothing is difficult if you understand how it works. Anyone with an understanding of databases and queries, AND knows (or knows HOW to find) where the relevant data is in DBA should have no trouble whatsoever. If the sum total of your computer experience is Outlook and Word it will be a (much) steeper hill.

I love it and can't imagine DBA-life without it.
