Title: AR-K does not report correctly Post by David Waldmann on 01/17/08 at 06:44:20 I may have posted on this before, but it is still happening with the latest update so I thought I'd re-post it. Here's the setup: Tax group is set up to charge tax on freight. Tax is properly charged on everything for taxable customers. Tax is properly not charged on anything for tax-exempt customers. Here is the problem: Freight on tax-exempt customers is included in "Taxable" in AR-K in either the Summary or Detail report. Freight is reported properly on the Detail report, but as 0 on the Summary. I'm using a Crystal report to work around it but don't trust it because taxes are pretty complicated. I always end up printing the AR-K as well to make sure the totals agree. |

Title: Re: AR-K does not report correctly Post by Dawn on 05/13/08 at 12:08:04 I use Classic and I do get this same problem. I have no idea how to fix it so I just make note of it as I do the taxes every month. I have checked over the system settings and never found how to fix this. I was just doing taxes today when I remembered seeing this post. Sorry it tooks so long David. ;) |
Title: Re: AR-K does not report correctly Post by David Waldmann on 04/17/12 at 06:16:31 Just installed the latest update and using all the newest screens, still having the same problem. |
Title: Re: AR-K does not report correctly Post by Laura Oliver on 06/17/13 at 13:56:45 David Waldmann, Did you ever figure this out? It worked great 8 or 10 years ago. AR-K detail works great but AR-K summary is basically blank, all I get is the the report title heading and the column headings. In both DBA and EVo the detail report is wonderful..... but I get ZERO (nothing) if I choose summary. |
Title: Re: AR-K does not report correctly Post by David Waldmann on 06/18/13 at 05:07:30 There are two different situations here. The problem I described above has never been fixed. However, the problem you are describing happened to me for the first time yesterday. I've continued to use the AR-K report to ensure that the totals of my Crystal Report agree and that the total tax due is right. Last month I used AR-K and it worked fine. Yesterday I used it and got all 0s in both Detail and Summary mode. I've reported this latest problem to Lynn and I believe they are working on it. Hope that helps. |
Title: Re: AR-K does not report correctly Post by Laura Oliver on 06/18/13 at 06:40:18 David, I have not gotten any data on the summary report since 2007. I reported it back then. Every time we get an update I checked to see if it was fixed. Before 2007 I used this report religiously. Its really odd that it just started happening to you. I wonder if its some default. |
Title: Re: AR-K does not report correctly Post by David Waldmann on 06/18/13 at 06:54:08 That is very strange. Also, as far as I can tell nothing is different in the AR-K program itself - we did the SP2 update but BKARK is from last year. There's also now a T7ARK that Lynn just told me about but I have the same results with that. A default seems possible but not likely. According to ISTS policy any added defaults default to original program behavior, and if for some reason they did add one that is the opposite I think that would have been the first think Lynn would have told me when I reported it. |

So as of today you are still getting detail? What is the date of your BKARK? |
Title: Re: AR-K does not report correctly Post by Laura Oliver on 06/18/13 at 07:49:45 AR-K with variable detail works perfectly, always has! AR-K with variable summary has not worked for us since :'( 2007 BKARK.run 4-11-2012 139KB |
Title: Re: AR-K does not report correctly Post by David Waldmann on 06/18/13 at 08:07:06 Very strange indeed. Both worked* for me until yesterday and now neither one does... *apart from the freight counted as taxable issue described above. |
Title: Re: AR-K does not report correctly Post by David Waldmann on 06/20/13 at 11:31:42 Apparently our problem with lack of info on the report is that BKISTAX (the place where the data is stored) is cleared out up through 6/4/13. We've never used AR-L, but apparently if you use that to "transfer" taxes it deletes the records that are used in the AR-K report. The only thing we can come up with is that we did a bunch of archiving, probably on the 4th, or maybe the 5th of June. Nothing that seems should affect BKISTAX, but maybe. Laura - if you look at BKISTAX is there any data in there? If so, what date range? |
Title: Re: AR-K does not report correctly Post by David Waldmann on 06/20/13 at 12:06:53 So we found all our missing records in ISISATAX, an archive table. It appears that there is a bug in one of the archive utilities. |

Our BKISTAX is perfect. We are not missing any data. I think the only problem I have is that we do not get summary of a tax code in AR-K...we only get detail of a tax code. I use to be able to print with the summary variable and get all 75+ of my tax codes on all one page. Now I have to print the Detail and hand transfer it to my sales tax worksheet. |
Title: Re: AR-K does not report correctly Post by Laura Oliver on 06/24/13 at 09:40:56 David, Can you print AR-K with the variable of S for summary and get any data? |
Title: Re: AR-K does not report correctly Post by David Waldmann on 06/24/13 at 09:47:51 Laura Oliver wrote:
??? We have less than a dozen codes at max, but it takes three pages. |

Yes. Summary has always worked for us (except with the errors noted earlier). However we have limited data in BKISTAX right now because of the Archive problem, and we got 0s last week because I was putting in a date range that was outside the range of data that was there. |
Title: Re: AR-K does not report correctly Post by David Waldmann on 06/24/13 at 10:12:18 Well I did learn (remember?) one thing. "Include monthly amounts" really means "Include SALES and tax due as monthly subtotals". If you say No, you just get the tax amount. Which is worthless to us, as every state we've dealt with wants to know Total Sales on the report. So if you're NOT including monthly amounts you could conceivably get quite a few (maybe 50 but probably not a full 75) on a single page. But it's just the tax amount due, not sales. |
Title: Re: AR-K does not report correctly Post by Laura Oliver on 06/24/13 at 10:29:00 If I choose "S" I get nothing but a header .... regardless of any other variable. Here is a link to the way the summary report use to look in 2004 http://www.flickr.com/photos/39342778@N07/9128384974/ |
Title: Re: AR-K does not report correctly Post by David Waldmann on 06/24/13 at 10:32:33 Yup, still looks that way for me if I do Not "include monthly amounts". This is the format I normally use, because it includes the Sales amount: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3631708/AR-K_Summary.pdf |
Title: Re: AR-K does not report correctly Post by David Waldmann on 06/24/13 at 10:36:10 Are you selecting Paid, Outstanding or Both? I use Both. |
Title: Re: AR-K does not report correctly Post by Laura Oliver on 06/24/13 at 10:49:01 I choose Both also. David, I use to be able to get that format too. :'( Since others are getting summary its obviously a default problem or something that I set wrong. |
