What adverse or positive effects would there be if I edited a balance in AD-B?

Hmmm. Never noticed it before. I don't know where it comes from or what it affects, but it's way off on all six of ours.

The balance as seen in AD-B should match your last reconciled bank statement and is updated when you use GL-J to reconcile to the bank statement. If the AD-B balance is correct and matches the last reconciled statement, then GL-I of all uncleared checks and deposits will use the AD-B balance as a starting point, and the ending balance should match the amount in the checking account on the GL.

If the AD-B balance was never set correctly and is off or you are just beginning to use GL-J for reconciliation purposes, you can manually set it to agree woth the bank after completing reconciliation and there are no other transactions created or other adverse effects.

I knew the answer to this before I asked it (DBA HELP is great on this one)
I was just hoping that there was more.... because .....I am trying to figure out another problem:

The balance on my main checking account from the balance sheets printed on paper before the last upgrade does not match that account on the balance sheets that I can now list to the screen.

The new balance sheet says we have had 101K more (each and every month) for the last 6 years than we really have. Which means my current Bal sheet reflects 101K more.

Did you run the UT-K-D as stated in the instructions after running the update? If you didn't, you need to.

I can't remember! But I think I did. Can I rerun it?

It looks like from the HELP pulldown that running it again will hurt nothing.
Others can be on DBA as long as they are not posting in GL-O.
Of course I will bup the files BKGLCOA and BKGLTRAN first
