Is there a way for DBA to automatically change a work order status from Firmed to Released once a traveler is printed?

That would be a nice little addition to the WO-C screen, possibly a small checkbox at the end that simply states, "Mark Work Order as Released after Printing".
Hey, would also be nice if they had a little checkbox after that one that said, "Issue Materials for Work Order after Printing", that of course automatically printed the Issue Materials Shortage Report if you were missing materials.
It would also be cool if prior to all this happening, it would ask you, "Enter the work order #'s you wish to print", and then it would BATCH perform the above tasks. Wow, think of all the watercooler time I could be getting from that....

WO-C already has a "Release Firm Orders?" option. it was added back in May of 2008. You need to get current!!! ;)

As for the rest, the issuing and shortage report could get tricky because some people would want to issue everything and go negative while others may only want to issue to 0 stock and then print the remaining allocations.

The next update will have an option (Evo Only) where you can specify an automatic call from one program to another so to some degree you will be able to configure this yourself but you will still have to process the material issue once it calls the program; you won't be able to go to the water cooler and chit-chat about Sunday's game.

Would that call to another program allow a person to print a traveler after issuing materials in WO-G? without jumping to WO-C?

I call the program (or function rather) AUTOCHAIN.. if you are in WO-A you could have the program then autochain to WOG and then WOC. It just calls the programs for you passing the correct information.. in this case WO #. You still need to do the other entries on those screens to make it all work.. It is just a way to streamline some of the menu navigation.

sounds like a great idea as we do a lot of running from one screen to another to release, issue materials and print travelers.
