Title: WO-C Not Printing Linked Documents
Post by gtladmin on 06/12/08 at 09:03:59

Having an issue where linked documents no longer print when printing travelers.  My users say they think the problem started just after a folder on the network that contained many of the linked docs was deleted and restored (over a month ago).  The folder was restored with all original rights, and users can access all documents in all folders as they had before. However, when they print travelers in Evo, none of the linked documents will print.  We tried setting Print Linked documents to Y, to P, but nothing works.  Again, they can manually access, open and print the documents outside of Evo.   The links are good, we've been checking them.  We are not using a global path since there are a number of locations the linked documents are located.

How do I fix this?

Val

Oh yeah, and they are printing directly to the printer, not previewing first.

Silly Val, you had to go into the system defaults and turn Evo Linkis OFF - same as for Evo Notes.

That seems to have fixed the issue.
Now we didn't turn these on with the last update--I thought they (at least the Links) was off by default and you had to enable it to use it. But it was already enabled....?

I've been having the same problem. Thanks for the tip Val. I also had to turn off EVO links for links to print with the travelers. Seems counter intuitive to me. What's wrong with this picture?

If you turn Evo Links on, then it enables linking files to things other than inventory (such as customers, specific orders, etc.) and it also enables full length (Windows Compliant) file and path names.  But once you turn it on, you need to go to SM-S (Evo ADMIN Menu) and click the button on the right side of the toolbar to Convert Image Links to Evo Links so that your previously entered Image links are moved to the new file.  It also is only available in Evo so if you are running a mixed platform, your DBA Classic users will only be able to access the old Image Links while Evo users will have the new ones.  If you add any new links to Inventory items that you want to have available foe both platforms, they will need to be added in both Classic and Evo.

Lynn,

After logging in as ADMIN I don't see a menu item for SM-S nor do I have it in the Maintain Menu Access.  Is it only available for the March 08 update?
