Title: ROutings, First Articles Post by AndyOB on 06/13/08 at 09:31:55 First I just want to say, I'm no shop genius. I'm just now starting to get my head around the whole "Manufacturing Business", so that said. We have been using DBA for years, but we have not really utilized Routings, Labor data collection, etc. My Engineer guy wants to be able to track labor or time it takes to build each assembly based on first article reports, as well as have a record of what tools were used at each step. For certain compliances we have to have a paper trail or a record of stuff like crimp heights, pull force resistances, and what have you, then once that information is all figured out that information is saved so that when future orders come in we have all that data available and there's no guess work involved. This is how we build it, no deviations. Can anyone kindda shove me in the direction I need to go to do something like this? Right now we collect labor time (on paper), but were thinking of expanding that to include tooling and what not for each routing step, then someone will be responsible for entering that data into DBA and making sure it's correct, and that data can be recalled if needed. I'm not sure I am asking the right questions here, but hoping someone can help me out, or point to some documentation that I may of missed. I guess I just don't understand the flow in DBA or where you put stuff that'll be most helpful an produce the best results in the least amount of time. Email is andy@nortra-cables.com, thanks in advance. -Andy |
