Title: Sub String search
Post by cathyh on 06/25/08 at 11:23:49

In my handout from the symposium there is a sub-string search button in IN-A.  I don't seem to have it.
Is this not available yet?

sub string search is in all the grids.. if the grid has sub string searchable fields then the button is there.

What grid in IN-A are you looking at?

The grid teminology may be stumping me again, but I am not in any particular grid except the main look-up for a part number-- there is no "Sub-string button".  I guess this is the "lookup" grid?
If  look in other "grids" (Sales Orders, Work Orders) I don't find that button in those grids either.

Cathy,

So you are telling me that the sub string button just isn't there... Odd did you edit the Inventory Grid? and erase the 1, 2, 3... in the SubStr column?  if there are numbers in the SubStr column then the button is supposed to appear.

AHHHH..............Video was extremely helpful  Might be an interesting tool for some of us  (you know there is a "fork" somewhere in the description, you are just not sure where.........etc).   ;D

Although it is not the speediest search, but then you are looking thru a lot of data.....

Allen, yes I did edt the inventory grid early on and so it probably did not have the sub-string search at that time and I have not replaced it with the current grid.  I will look at that video and add the numbers.
