Title: Re: UT-K-I Fix Binary Zerooes Post by Kelloggs on 08/25/08 at 07:25:24 Have you "Re-index" the table? Reboot your server. Re-index Tables (UT-A NZINDEX.RUN) Run UT-K-I again. By the way what version of Pervasive are you using? Kelloggs |
Title: Re: UT-K-I Fix Binary Zerooes Post by Lori on 09/05/08 at 07:46:28 Hi Kellogs, thanks for the reply. I will try that! According to the documentation: This release is referred to as Pervasive.SQL 2000i or Pervasive.SQL 2000 SP3. The internal version number is 7.9. |
Title: Re: UT-K-I Fix Binary Zerooes Post by Lori on 09/05/08 at 14:28:15 :-? I tried UT-A to reindex NZINDEX.RUN and it says that progam isn't on the system - either missing or the module was not purchased ??? :'( |
Title: Re: UT-K-I Fix Binary Zerooes Post by GasGiant on 09/12/08 at 12:27:13 Is NZINDEX an Evo only program? Will UT-C re-index the file in question? How about the Pervasive tools? |
Title: Re: UT-K-I Fix Binary Zerooes Post by Lori on 09/12/08 at 12:44:51 NZINDEX must be EVO only, we don't have one! Thanks for reading my queries! |
Title: Re: UT-K-I Fix Binary Zerooes Post by Lynn_Pantic on 09/12/08 at 19:53:48 To Clarify... UT-C(Classic and Evo) will reindex a single file. You need to know and enter the file name and extension. Make a backup first, there is no OOPS function. Start - Programs - Pervasive - Utilities - Rebuild will allow selection of a number of files and rebuild them (same thing as reindexing). Again, make sure you have a backup. UT-A program NZINDEX (Classic) or NZINDEX.RUN (Evo) is a $49.95 add-on that can save list(s) of files to reindex together and provide a report upon completion of which files were reindexed and which were open and therefore skipped, and how much disk space was recovered. |
Title: Re: UT-K-I Fix Binary Zerooes Post by Lori on 09/15/08 at 09:54:47 Great, we're making some progress now. WHICH files should I reindex through Pervasive, that would help clear up the problem that isn't allowing me to fix binary zeroes ? |
Title: Re: UT-K-I Fix Binary Zerooes Post by Kelloggs on 09/15/08 at 11:52:01 You should reindex all. Now, that could solve your problem or not. I repeat, it would be a good idea to reindex your tables before trying to fix binary zeroes. Please backup up your tables before attenting anything (X:\DBAMFG\Default\*.B) If the problem continues, personally contact Lynn or Tim Goldstein. It could be that you have a corrupted table and/or a corrupted index. Kelloggs, |
Title: Re: UT-K-I Fix Binary Zerooes Post by Lori on 09/29/08 at 16:40:47 How, exactly, do I set up the reindexing through Pervasive? Do I select every .B file or what? Is it from the Default folder, the root directory? What is an Output Directory? Key number? Also, do I need to run this from the server or can I do from my workstation? |
Title: Re: UT-K-I Fix Binary Zerooes Post by Lori on 10/14/08 at 20:16:04 Thanks for the help on this one, I finally got a full binary zero run-through! |
