Title: SD-Q Post by kkmfg on 08/25/08 at 07:48:58 Aren't I supposed to be able to use this to change defaults while the system is still live? Because, I certainly cannot do that. It doesn't let me change things. |
Title: Re: SD-Q Post by RPCAdmin on 08/25/08 at 08:52:08 Which settings? I just tried mine and it worked fine. |
Title: Re: SD-Q Post by kkmfg on 08/25/08 at 11:22:26 Message printed at the bottom of Sales Orders. |
Title: Re: SD-Q Post by RPCAdmin on 08/25/08 at 12:18:13 Collin, OK - I am obviously not looking at it correctly - which tab (Sales I or Sales II) and which setting? :-? |
Title: Re: SD-Q Post by GasGiant on 08/25/08 at 12:36:13 Those are in SO defaults, not in SD-Q. Only SD-Q (IS Tech Support Settings) can be changed on the fly. |
Title: Re: SD-Q Post by RPCAdmin on 08/25/08 at 12:39:52 Yeah, I did some more searching and you are correct. It is done in SD-M, and everyone else must be out of the system. |
Title: Re: SD-Q Post by Lynn_Pantic on 08/25/08 at 13:26:35 The 8/4 update has a new Master Defaults program in Evo (load the ADMIN menu) that does NOT require all users to be out of the system to make those sorts of changes. But I did just discover a problem with the Sales Order Ending Lines. |
Title: Re: SD-Q Post by GasGiant on 08/25/08 at 13:28:57 oo-ooh, nice. I'll get there someday. :-/ Only 30 or so RTM to modify :'( |
Title: Re: SD-Q Post by NovaZyg on 08/25/08 at 14:22:49 why do you have to modify your RTMs before updating? unless you are using Evo notes there shouldn't be any issues. and you could turn Evo notes off until you get the RTMs updated if that were the case... :-? |
Title: Re: SD-Q Post by GasGiant on 08/25/08 at 14:53:22 We are using notes. Turning them off would leave us in a pickle, wouldn't it? Our customer notes wouldn't be available and that is where we put notes on payment status, billing, etc. |
Title: Re: SD-Q Post by NovaZyg on 08/25/08 at 15:47:30 Turning off Evo notes does not stop you from using them.. just stops the system from printing them. you can still see them in ARA and APA |

So, here I am. What the heck is with this DEF-Q thingie? None of my current settings are in this program, just a bunch of TASthis and TASthat. I went to the help files and... DEF-Q is skipped. This looks like great fun, but how does one activate it? |
Title: Re: SD-Q Post by cathyh on 09/22/08 at 11:46:47 I am a bit confused after reading this thread. There are default settings for each module in two places, for instance WO defaults are under WO, and also under SD. I looks to me like these are basically the same. Is this true? Then there is the SD-Q Master defaults (which also seem to be the same as the other defaults) which I assume is what Lynn is talking about being able to change on the fly. Am I correct? The first time I opened this, however, as I was looking through the WO settings the "You can't change this because there are users in the system" message popped up and then the program basically crashed with a couple of messages (last of which was "too many POPS" ). I had to CTRL/ALT/DEL to get out of it. I have opened it since with no problems but I am not sure I trust it not to have this issue again in the future. I have no idea what or where DEF-Q is. :-? |
Title: Re: SD-Q Post by GasGiant on 09/22/08 at 11:52:34 When you run SD-Q (new) it is DEF-Q (in the title bar), a new program. It gives you access to ALL of the settings. In each module there is a DEF in the menu that only gives you access to the settings for that module (WO, IN, AR, SO, etc.) I have been using DEF-Q successfully, now that my data is populated. For some reason, the first time I fired it up, all of the fields said "TASxxx" instead of Y or N, etc. The next day it was working fine. |
Title: Re: SD-Q Post by cathyh on 09/23/08 at 07:55:16 Maybe that was the problem I had at first also, it seems to be working now. I didn't even look at the title bar to see the DEF-Q! Thanks, Colin. |
