Title: ADMIN not accessible
Post by martel-carol on 09/16/08 at 16:59:31

When I try and log into ADMIN I get the following message.

"The menu items haven't been set up yet.  Please run WBMENUSETUP.RWN first."

I don't know what could have happened.  I was using it this morning and this afternoon I get this message.  We were having some server issues so I rebooted the server and my computer as well.  But I still can't get into ADMIN.  I can get into other users but not ADMIN and ADMIN is the only user with all the new programs.  So I can't update users.

I had this happen months ago and I got the same message and could not get into ADMIN.  But when I put in the latest update, it started working again.  Suggestions??
I really don't want to run WBMENUSETUP because I was told it could change some items.

Just for the record, this was fixed by logging in as a different user with access to PS-A, deleting ADMIN and then recreating the ADMIN user in PS-A.  There must have been some sort of corruption in the user record in the password file that wasn't passing the username correctly over to the menu.

I tried that last time and I tried it again this morning.  It still does not work.  It wants me to run WBMENUSETUP.  I have rebooted my machine and the server again.
When I delete ADMIN, it won't let me out of PS-A without adding a new ADMIN immediately.  So I do not get out of PS-A and then back into it.

I just read an old post of someone who deleted all the txt files in the dbamfg directory, which included BKMENUSU.TXT.  When she restored that file, her ADMIN worked fine.
I think I did the same thing when I was cleaning up some old user files in the dbamfg directory.  My BKMENUSU.TXT has  0 KB but an old one on our tape backup dated 8/24/08 has 36 KB.
So I copied that file over but I still can't get to ADMIN without WBMENUSETUP coming up.
Does someone have an updated version of that file?  There is a BKMENUSU.TXT in the dbamfg\drill folder that is dated 8/4/08 with 36 KB.  Should I use that?

Use the BKMENUSU.TXT from the DRILL sobfolder.  Copy it to DBAMFG.
