Title: EMAIL PO or SO gives message "EMAIL NOT SENT" Post by lizod1 on 11/17/08 at 15:55:09 Cannot print to email anymore on po's or so's. A message comes back and says "EMAIL NOT SENT". What would cause this? It was working fine on Thursday but not Friday or today!!! |
Title: Re: EMAIL PO or SO gives message "EMAIL NOT SENT" Post by Lynn_Pantic on 11/17/08 at 18:31:35 Email NOT Sent means that the program could not log into your SMTP server which uses the settings defined in TAS-C on the email tab. |
Title: Re: EMAIL PO or SO gives message "EMAIL NOT SENT" Post by lizod1 on 11/19/08 at 14:38:38 Lynn, Thanks for the info. They did change our stmp data recently and so I had to update both outlook and EVO. Now I get the email sent successfully message. Liz |
Title: Re: EMAIL PO or SO gives message "EMAIL NOT SENT" Post by lizod1 on 11/19/08 at 15:34:19 Now I have another problem. I fixed my own email and that was fine. I want to do the same for our purchasing gal but cannot get to TAS-C on her menu. I have TAS blocked on all users except myself. I went to TAS -G and chose her name and then did edit user. Under the group button it has System Mgr listed and then the menu button listing to the right of that has UT/SM/SD/AI/IM/DE - how do I get to add TAS-C? Only the C option. Can anyone help me? |
Title: Re: EMAIL PO or SO gives message "EMAIL NOT SENT" Post by cpitta on 11/19/08 at 15:49:20 Click a menu button (ie. DE) then the down arrow until you get a blank box. Click on ... and then choose TAS (System Configuration) from the list of Menu Options. |
Title: Re: EMAIL PO or SO gives message "EMAIL NOT SENT" Post by aostarly on 11/19/08 at 15:50:23 Is your setup client/server? Are you using EVO or just DBA? If you ware client/server and Evo then you can adjust the setting on the local machine. Locate the ISTS folder on your computer, then look for the EVOERPsetup.exe. Double click it and you will see exactly what you would through TAS-G. Click on the e-mail tab and adjust the smtp settings. Hope this helps! |
Title: Re: EMAIL PO or SO gives message "EMAIL NOT SENT" Post by lizod1 on 11/19/08 at 16:02:11 Thanks for the info. I will try this next just to know how to do it. But I went to the user and even though the System Mgr Button does not have the TAS (like mine) it does have the C option for Set Configuration!!! It's under the last button on her menu which is DE - fancy that!!! I was expecting the button to show up. Any idea why it doesn't? Another question - Where are the "patches" available listed? |

Title: Re: EMAIL PO or SO gives message "EMAIL NOT SENT" Post by lizod1 on 11/19/08 at 16:28:12 I found the choice under DE - made the update, tested it and it worked. Then I tried the ISTS folder and saw where it was the same so and will make a note that I'll do it that way next time instead of messing with the menus . Then I was attempting to change the TAS-C option from the DE button and putting it under a TAS button. I thought I did it correctly. Then I went to Naomi's machine and logged on. Can't Log on. Get a message "error during creation of menu item "6", etc. Now what do I do? She needs the system. It's what she does! |
Title: Re: EMAIL PO or SO gives message "EMAIL NOT SENT" Post by aostarly on 11/20/08 at 07:12:48 When you get that message it means that something in the menu creation is incorrect or currupted. Whenever I get that message, I undo whatever changes I just made. If that doesn't work then I delete them and copy the profile over from another user. There is a trick when you are editing menus. Before you add anything to a category (WO, JC, PO,etc.) go to the end of the alphabetical list and add a new blank line, then add the feature that you are looking for. I also make sure that there is an extra blank like at the bottom before saving the changes and it seems to help. Hope this helps. |
Title: Re: EMAIL PO or SO gives message "EMAIL NOT SENT" Post by lizod1 on 11/20/08 at 11:54:13 Thanks for the hint. All of these suggestions have been noted and printed and will be kept for future reference. I mess with the menus very little and the time span in between makes it not easy to do. I fixed the email mess up which originally started this thread. As for the menu mess up - I deleted the user and then copied from another when I reset her up. That worked. Will have to download the patch so future stuff is ok. Thanks for to everyone for all the responses given here. Liz :) |
