Title: PSQL build differences Post by cathyh on 04/06/09 at 08:27:41 I know it is necessary to have the server and all clients on the same version of Pervasive, but is the build important? I am installing Evo on a new computer and I can't seem to find the original download of the client software... I just downloaded it again and it is a different build than the one I have currently on all other workstations ( 10.10 vs 10.13) -- this probably means the server is version 10.10 also. Is this important? |
Title: Re: PSQL build differences Post by skyywalker on 04/06/09 at 09:00:59 You can still download the "trial" version of 10.10 from Pervasive's web site: http://ww2.pervasive.com/Database/Trials/Pages/PSQLSummitv10TrialDownloads.aspx. The trial version IS the retail version if you have purchased a License Key. If you're using the Workgroup Edition (Peer to Peer) you need to install the License Key on your workstation. If you bought it from Lynn, just shoot her an email. If you're using the Client/Server edition...and downloading the client...then just install it and you're good to go. Since you can still get 10.10, I suggest that you don't mix builds. |
Title: Re: PSQL build differences Post by cathyh on 04/07/09 at 07:59:19 Thanks for your response, skywalker! On the PSQL website the version is listed as 10.13 and that was the name of the downloaded file- "PSQL-Client-10.13.021.000-win.x86.exe", but when I began the install it said 10.10. The program seems to be working fine on the two workstations I installed it on. I don't know if I will have any trouble down the line. |
Title: Re: PSQL build differences Post by skyywalker on 04/07/09 at 12:27:45 No problem - I hope it works well for you! :D Just to be on the safe side, you may want to consider installing that build on all of your workstations/servers. It's just an old network admin's rule of thumb to help prevent odd problems down the road. Just out of curiosity, did you get that download from the page that I linked to (http://ww2.pervasive.com/Database/Trials/Pages/PSQLSummitv10TrialDownloads.aspx) or from this one: http://ww2.pervasive.com/Database/MaintenanceReleases/Pages/PervasivePSQL.aspx |
