Title: Print to Screen Post by cathyh on 04/10/09 at 10:17:32 I have a user that has a problem with the Print To screen on reports and a couple of other screens also ( on is the TAS Set configuration screen)-- the box cuts off the bottom of the box so that she can't see the choices (list/print/disk) and if she resizes the box the next time she needs it it is back to being too narrow. We have tried resetting using US-C and I have changed the maximize setting for the company to no, What am I missing? Her resolution is set to 1280x1024 and screen size is set to large. When she opens up a program screen, her display is not large and it can't be resized. If I set my screen size to large, my same program screen covers my entire monitor screen. Help! |
Title: Re: Print to Screen Post by skyywalker on 04/10/09 at 15:43:44 I'm not sure that I understand. Can you post a link to a screenshot? ...or maybe email one to me? |
Title: Re: Print to Screen Post by Lynn_Pantic on 04/10/09 at 17:01:07 What is the screen resolution in Windows itself (not the Evo setting)? Some of the new laptops (and maybe some desktops too) have a wide screen option that may cause some problems. |
Title: Re: Print to Screen Post by cathyh on 04/13/09 at 08:15:41 If you can tell me how to insert an image into this forum I will do that. I know I have done it before but can't seem to make it work this time. I will also try the email to skywalker. Windows screen resolution is 1280X1024. It is set up the same as mine. Also, when I change the screen size to large in TAS-C Set configuration, user settings, RUN form display size,on my computer my program screen gets very big, but hers does not. |
Title: Re: Print to Screen Post by Kelloggs on 04/13/09 at 09:23:45 Put the image on a server somewhere and note its url location. When you write your message text, insert the image using the following format: {img}http://www.example.com/image.jpg{/img} USE SQUARE BRACKETS instead of squiggley brackets. http://umcorp.com/images/logo.jpg :P |
Title: Re: Print to Screen Post by skyywalker on 04/13/09 at 09:41:24 For those who are interested, here's the screen capture that 'cathyh' sent: http://www.hectechsupport.com/support/pix/jwatrous_screen_print.bm I'm not sure what the problem is here, I'll have to play with it a bit. My first guess is that she has large fonts turned on. To check it (in WinXP) go to 'Control Panel >> Display >> Settings (tab) >> Advanced' and make sure that 'DPI setting' is set to 'Normal size (96 DPI)'. http://www.hectechsupport.com/support/pix/advanced_properties.JPG If that doesn't work then let me know so I can make some time to check it out later today. |
Title: Re: Print to Screen Post by cathyh on 04/13/09 at 10:23:53 Hers were set to Extra large! Even bringing them down to large helped, and regular was even better. Of course now her desktop is hard for her to read. However, this did not change the Large RUN screen setting response. She still has small program screens. Is there another setting that might affect this? |
Title: Re: Print to Screen Post by Kelloggs on 04/13/09 at 10:35:41 I dont think this is "windows" issue. It is a TAS issue. Backup your C:\ISTS\taspro7.ini then copy it from another Workstation. Actually try the entire C:\ISTS directory :-X Kelloggs |

Yes, that setting changes the font size but the one in my screen cap lets you set the DPI. Did you check that one too? |
Title: Re: Print to Screen Post by cathyh on 04/13/09 at 15:21:28 Yes I checked that and it is set to 96 DPI. I ended up renaming her ISTS folder and running the Evo setup again, (she had too many configured program screens to just copy someone else's). This appears to have worked. The only thing I noticed that was really different (date and size) was the evoerpsetup.exe file. So it appears Kellogs was right about the screen size being a TAS issue-- Thanks for helping me solve this -- my accounts payable person is very happy with the working print box and loves the huge program screen! PS I thought I had posted an image to this reply box before, but if the only way to do it is to first post it to a web site then I guess I haven't. I don't think I have an available web site.....what are you using for that? |
Title: Re: Print to Screen Post by skyywalker on 04/13/09 at 16:23:06 GOOD JOB Kelloggs!!!!! That's were I was going next! ;) == == To answer your question, I have a folder on our company web site where I can put just about anything I want (as long as it's less than 5GB). Before we got a VPN I used to use it to store stuff that I might need when I was on the road...these days I just use it to store pics (like the one you sent to me) and other miscellaneous stuff. If you're interested and you have a web site then ask the folks that maintain it if they can set you up with a home folder. It should be pretty easy to do. If you or they need more info, just drop me a line. If you don't already have a web site or if it's not an option there are other ways to do it, from signing up for a free web site (just run a google search) to online drive's to setting up your own web server. Maybe your local admin has some ideas based on the hardware you already have. If not (or if you're not lucky enough to have a local admin) feel free to drop me a line. |
