Title: Negative inventory no quantities attached Post by Irma on 04/16/09 at 06:21:15 Good morning, I was checking FG inventory and found some items with no quantities with dollar amount attach to it. This sample is from Items / IN-F (Finish good and subassembly) I delete some of the columns but that is basically what is in the system. Part # Cat OnHand UM AvgCost xUnit BookValue 124-5088G1 FG 0 EA 0 0 -109.33 What is the way to adjust the difference?. I know it will need more than a Journal entry since inventory module is part of it. Thank you for your help..............Irma |
Title: Re: Negative inventory no quantities attached Post by GasGiant on 04/16/09 at 06:27:17 Look at UT-K-G, Recalculate Inventory Book Value. It will fix the value and has the option to post. Parts get that way when you do the paperwork in the wrong order, e.g. when you issue or sell an item before the Work Order is processed or before the PO is received. Since the incoming inventory transaction has not been processed it simply uses the current average cost, which may not be correct. |
Title: Re: Negative inventory no quantities attached Post by Irma on 04/16/09 at 06:34:09 Hi Colin, Thank you very much for your prompt response that is very professional. It is my understanding that the UT-K-G has to be run at month end and it will clear all info after is run. Will that be okay if is run in the middle of the month? Please let me know. Irma |
Title: Re: Negative inventory no quantities attached Post by GasGiant on 04/16/09 at 06:59:22 It is not tied to a certain timing, but I do run it at the end of the month so that Accounting will see a match in the inventory value. Have a look at the help section where it discusses running it and how to do just certain classes or individual Items. It says what to do to keep the books in balance, too. http://www.evoerp.com/webhelp/html/UT_K_G_Recalc_Inventory_Book_Value.htm |
