Title: Inventory Transaction Type G in WO-G Post by Cars655 on 05/04/09 at 14:45:59 In WO-G issuing materials I wanted to know if I could change the inventory transaction type when a user enters scrap on a work order? Currently, whether we are issuing materials or issuing scrap "I" Always shows up as the inventory transaction type. I would like when the user enters scrap for the "G" to show up on the transactiuon pages so we can better track that kind of transaction in our system. I am unsure on how to change this. Any input would be appreciated! Thanks, Chris |
Title: Re: Inventory Transaction Type G in WO-G Post by Lynn_Pantic on 05/05/09 at 08:46:49 You can't. A type "G" transaction is designated for finished production scrap coming out of a work order, not component scrap going in. As such, since the finished production was never actually completed, the "G" transaction does not reduce on-hand quantity. A material issue of scrap, on the other hand, must consume the component from stock so it can't use the same transaction type. |
Title: Re: Inventory Transaction Type G in WO-G Post by Cars655 on 05/05/09 at 09:11:30 Lynn, Thanks you for the response. I appreciate the information. Would there be a way to change the transaction type for the incoming scrap transactions in WO-G? Im not sure which transaction type it would be changed to. I wanted to have a way to track components that are scrapped to our Work Orders. Currently they show up as inventory transaction, which they are, but i wanted those to be seperate from my normal inventory transaction when we first issue components to a job. That way we could track the cost of our scrapped component transactions. Thanks, Chris |
Title: Re: Inventory Transaction Type G in WO-G Post by Lynn_Pantic on 05/08/09 at 13:28:05 If you enter a scrap code when entering a scrap component in WO-G then you can yse JC-E for scrap code 01 through 99 to get all teh transactions that are Scrap type. |
