With items that are identified as status "E", there is a prompt when entering orders and several other screens that tells the person it is on hold and there may be issues with the part. This pop up does not occur in enter work orders. Is there a setting s some place that would enable that?

Ok, you are right. I just added that check to T7WOA. I will send it to Lynn now, ask her for an updated version.

What exactly are the problems that could arise from using and E type to build or buy? Is is just an internal warning that you are building or buying a part that is in development?

Yes, Active Status "E" is whatever you have internally defined it to be.
