We usually start out with building assemblies like machined parts in-house and many times outsource them once full production is underway. Unfortunately, Purchasing often forgets to change the item type from A to R, which can radically affect WIP variances.

It would be nice to have the option of causing a Pop-up warning when someone attempts to place a type A item on a PO.

With T7POA you can.

Add a note to the item number... make it a POW type ( or anything you like.. POW for PO Warning). Add a note that says DO not Purchase this PART. and turn on the Alert flag.. now when adding that part on a PO a warning will pop up...
