Title: missing part number
Post by ddlong on 09/25/09 at 08:21:48

We just had a part number disappear.  It was there earlier today because it was in a transaction report I ran.  Now its not showing in inventory anywhere.  Also, it had inventory so we shouldn't have been able to accidentally delete it.  When I looked in maintain database, it is still there.  I did rebuild stock status but that didn't bring it back.  What else can I do.

Darla Long,

EVO 9/16/09 update

Where did you look? Is it in BKICMSTR and MTICMSTR? Is it in BKICLOC?

It shows in the bkicloc and mticmstr and is missing in the bkicmstr.

Also, I ran a user defined inv txn report and it printed the 616-004 transactions under the 616-005 number, but when I run the report for 616-005 - it does print txns for 616-005.

This has been happening to us sporadically as well.  It seems to happen while a user is releasing/posting invoices.  I've been using IN-B to add the parts back to BKICMSTR.  It doesn't seem like anything else is affected as all transactional data reappears once I add it back.

Did you have to re-enter everything like the vender, vender part number, type, class, etc. just as if you were entering it for the first time?

I ran the SM-J-C transaction mode only - reconciliation type B and it said that when I run it for real the system would prompt me to either add bsvk the MTICMSTR or delete the bkicloc.  Wondering if the outcome would be the same if I added back the part number in IN-B or if it would be better to let SM-J-C do it.  Only down-side is that with SMJC I would have to wait until no one else on system.

Just heard from Lynn...she advised not to use the SM-J-C method unless I had the September update and confirmed that adding it back using IN-B would work fine.  I went to IN-B and added in just the main page info and saved, then all my transactions, etc were back as well.

Thanks to all who helped with this.

I'm glad IN-B worked for you like it works for me but I'd really like to know why this is happening

I would like to find out too.  We are looking into it and any patterns anybody can  identify would help.
