Title: Opening Lists and Lookup Grids
Post by carie on 10/16/09 at 10:03:25

The "Sort List by" in each of the opening lists don't seem to have all the options that one would need. Also I noticed when entering into the new AP-B when I went to look up my GL Acct number I could not sort by Description, only by number. Shouldn't there be a standard list of sort by options?

All the standard grids/lookups are available for you to modify in Queries - SU-A so you can add columns and indexes yourself.

Lynn,

I looked at SU-A, and have a bit of a problem. Looking at the grid that comes up when picking bank accounts the header is "Bank Accounts" but in SU-A  the only Grid Name I find is BANKS. Are these the same. Also the header on picking GL acct numbers is "GL Accounts" but the only Grid Name i find is GL TRAN and they don't seem to match.

Does anyone have feedback on the grid names?

Also I would like to know - Is the Key Name in the sort keys suppose to be all of the Field Names in the field data section. I have one grid I'd like to sort by desc, it's a field but not avail in the sort drop down list.

The name of any SU-A grid that is called by a program appears in the bottom Left of the screen in the blue/white part of the screen.

I believe the GL grid you are looking for is called COA (chart of accounts).

If in SU-A under the Index keys (bottom grid) there is no option in the pull downs for a field you are looking for, that means there is no index for that field.

Thank you for the information. SO I tried it in my test company and it worked. I went into our real company and it had changed it there also - Is that right?

Grids are company independent.  If you change a grid, it changes for all companies.
