Our costing method is set to standard. We use the IN-L-E (average) and BM-G. I am realizing that I am never calculating a new average cost. Last updates but not Avg. An example

2841 parts @ .4956 were on hand with a book value of $1408

2000 parts @ .5309 were recv'd

Last cost is now .5309
Avg is .4956 (shouldn't this have changed to .5102)
Std is .4956
new book value $2399.20

end result is that IN-L-E never actually changes the std cost

I thought I had checked through this and saw that avg was updating when we first changed to Standard Costing. I'm starting to doubt that it ever work correctly now.

Can anyone using standard costing shed light?
