Title: PO counter reset in PO-A Post by Laura Oliver on 03/05/10 at 12:51:03 For years we have change our PO numbers at the beginning of every month in PO-A...but we no longer can. For example: March 2004 POs were 403001 .....thru 403?? depending on how many purchases that month November 2006 POs were 611001 .... thru 611?? depending on how many purchases August 2009 POs were 908001 .....thru 908?? depending on how many purchases February 2010 POs were 2001 .... thru 1001 h December 2010 will be 12001 .... March of 2011 will be 103001.... July of 2019 will be 907001... This numbering system is great... !!!! Before 2010 we didnt have to go to SD-C and reset the PO counter, we did it at the first of the month in PO-A. But now since 2010 we are not given the option to reset the PO counter in 2010 One might asume that we are not given that option because the 2010 PO numbers have leading zeros and DBA 's PO doesnt register the leading zeros. So DBA sees the 2010 PO numbers as lesser. But we have a standing PO number in the system 999001 thru 999050 that I have created as templates for my girls to copy. I have used these templates for years. These templates were large than my 2009 PO numbers but they did not prevent the PO counter in PO-A from working. Any ideas? thanks |
Title: Re: PO counter reset in PO-A Post by Dennis Wilkinson on 03/26/10 at 10:49:45 Laura, You may have tried this, but I just did and seemed to work fine. I went into PO-A, entered the PO number I wanted to begin the new month with and I was prompted to use this number and then prompted to reset the counter to this number. I am on version 01/22/10, SP2. Also, no can go to Sys. Mgr-SD-R (Assign Next Document Number). Dennis |
Title: Re: PO counter reset in PO-A Post by Laura Oliver on 03/30/10 at 10:28:17 thats how we used to do it, but since the year is now 2010 it doesn't work....we dont get prompted anymore I assume it is because our numbering system is based on the year, 2009 had 6 digits, but 2010 only has 4 digits because DBA doesnt accept leading zeros. My guess is DBA PO counter will not reset to a lesser number?????????? |
