Title: Scrap not showing in GL
Post by gtladmin on 03/17/10 at 09:20:19

Scrapping parts is done through IN-C...

User entered type "A"
tabs through to "Quantity" and enters negative amount
tabs through to "Reference" and enters comments
from there they tab to the end where it asks them if they want to save--Y after
which it will ask for lot control.

When they check GL-O (post general ledger trans), the transaction should show
up under "OT" (other), but it is not there. They then check inventory
transactions under IN-A & IN-E & will find the transaction. So...it
appears that the transaction posts to the book value, but not to the
general ledger.

This has happened twice, two different parts.  One is a lot controlled part, but the other is not.

Adjustment thru IN-C are GL'd to the COGS account not the scrap account.  I do not believe there is any way to change that.  We use Scrap adjustment when WO-I Finished Production.  But you can also do it under WO-G Issue materials (just for scrap purposes).  I don't think you can issue scrap without having a work order open.

We use an "I", Indirect WO for scrap (via WO-G.)

AD-A has a setting to Post Adjustments to GL - is that set to Y?  If it is then the GL Postings should be there but they will post to COGS and not some other scrap account.

Thanks Dawn,  Lynn and Colin. I will have Holly (who does the scrap transactions) read over this information on your suggestions.  Lynn, I checked AD-A and the only things I see for Posting are Post COGS Trans = Y, Post PO Transactions = Y, Post Inventory Adjustments = N, Post WO Transactions = Y.
Are you referring to Post Inventory Adjustments?
