Title: Changing numbers Post by sbest67 on 06/03/10 at 15:07:35 So, my company has an item numbering scheme seemingly based on throwing things at the keyboard and using that as the number (in Quickbooks) I am implementing Evo and moving the items into it. I have about 500 items rebuilt now, with a codified number scheme, but the other 4000 that must be put in have to cross reference various assemblies/BOMs (it is all part of the new number scheme) My question is can I put in the existing parts with a new item # (IE make a item# subsection referencing the old part#), then change them later (including changing the item#)? Will the change roll through completed items? Thanks Steven Best |
Title: Re: Changing numbers Post by Lynn_Pantic on 06/03/10 at 18:01:06 I don't entirely understand the question but there is a SM-J-L Change Item Numbers that changes the item master and all associated instances of the item (BOM, orders, etc) so if that is what you are asking, then yes, you can change them later. |
Title: Re: Changing numbers Post by sbest67 on 06/03/10 at 19:50:56 You understood perfectly! Thanks I figured I'd ask first because I have found that some software (both QuickBooks and Peachtree that I have used) will not allow an item to be changed once it is used Steven Best |
