Title: Win7: Fatal Error: Data Dictionary
Post by Kelloggs on 06/29/10 at 12:10:14

I am trying to intall Evo on Windows 7 64 Bits

I did install pervasive 32 (It is working fine. You can connet via PPC or ODBC)
I did create a C:\ISTS folder with a file one it
But when I try to run the F:\DBAMFG\evoerp.exe as Admin, I get the following error:

Fatal Error
Data dictionary file could not be opened:
F:\DBAMFG\FILELOC.DBF

thank you all,

Kelloggs

Just installed about 6 stations with Win7-64.  Most of the time it works....occasionally get the data dictionary error.  Don't have a concrete answer, but have tried the following and in usually eventually works.  First try opening Classic using TP5wdba.exe (not sure if ti helps, but it verifies access to the server directory and that DBA can run).  After that, run Evoerpsetup.exe to make sure all the directory pointers are correct.  Then try running EVOerp.exe (maybe more than once), until the workstation install box comes up (be patient after you run evoerp.exe - on one station got the error and then about 10 seconds later, the workstation install screen came up)

OH, and make sure when you run evoerp.exe, you right click and run as administrator.....

Thanks for you help.
I followed your instructions.

It does not work with the shortcut that points to: C:\ISTS\evoerp.exe C:\ISTS

But if run F:\DBAMFG\evoerp.exe, it does work

:-X

thanks!!!

Yeah, I always use the one from the server directory.  I also remember some instruction that says you sometimes have to use Start, run  x:\dbamfg\evoerp.exe x:\dbamfg (where x is your mapped server directory) for it to work on some computers.
