Title: Item quantity adding up by itself! Post by fdiala on 08/26/10 at 06:14:16 Hello, I have on one item (HSA02308) 954 units on hand. But when you print a pick list or try to issue material, it shows UOH zero. Every time you try to rebuild stock status, it increases the quantity. I went into adjust physical inventory and fixed the count. But as soon as you go back to IN-A, it adds more quantity to itself!! and still having zero for issue material and picklist!! I thought it might be a problem related to ware house control. I changed ware house to control to N and then adjusted the quantity again...!! but when I go into IN-A to check, at first glance its give 954 (which I fixed through adjust phyiscal inventory) but as soon as it finishes rebuilding stock, I end up with even more inventory!! Help please!! :'( |

Title: Re: Item quantity adding up by itself! Post by fdiala on 08/27/10 at 19:24:42 when I click locations I get one record, Loc is empty, OnHand has the quantity etc.... If I go to adjust physical qty, it tell me that there is no location for this item and I should set it up in IN-B. I go to IN-B, enter stock number and press save. then when I go to IN-A, the quantity is doubled (when it finishes rebuilding stock) I check location again, same thing one record but not the quantity has doubled. I belive it has to do with locations but I am not sure where to look. any ideas? |
Title: Re: Item quantity adding up by itself! Post by fdiala on 11/08/10 at 10:28:39 We are having this problem again. Any way of fixing locations without affecting the count. Item TYP1684A-120 had zero units on hand, we received from a WO 14 units and shipped out 2. 12 were left on hand. for some reason it shows 24 units !! When we went into adjust physical level to deduct the 12 it had the following error message: "This part does not have any inventory locations. At least one inventory location should be created using the 'Enter Inventory' menu selection." This is an old part that we use on regular basis. I enter IN_B.. scroll down through the fields and hit sav. I did not change anything. I went into Adjust physical level and set it to 12. When back into IN_A to check and the count went up to 36 units and in transaction it show -12!!! it double it up to 48 then deducted the 12!!! We only have one location 'blank location' and we use on bin per item!! altough ware house control is Y Any ideas? is there a way to run this location thing off line! If I remember properly when where house control was set to Y we ran into some issues, some tables took for ever and the process was interrupted, could this be the reason? Thanks Diala |

Title: Re: Item quantity adding up by itself! Post by fdiala on 11/09/10 at 10:03:41 ANY SUGGESTIONS, It does happen frequently that while releasing a SO we get this message. so i just go into IN-B and save that item without changing anything. then the releasing will work. but the count stays correct. What is the module to run to update all this location issue!!! |

Title: Re: Item quantity adding up by itself! Post by Lynn_Pantic on 11/12/10 at 16:52:27 I have 2 suggestions. 1. Update to the current version 2. Once your updated, run UT-K-E to clean up your Inventory Location file. It is ultimately what is causing the problems because it is what tracks on-hand quantity. You lokely have some Binary Zeroes in the Location field. |

Title: Re: Item quantity adding up by itself! Post by fdiala on 11/22/10 at 10:44:14 Lynn, the problem has been solved, but through DBA and all our purchasing uses DBA (not evo) they cannot enter a PO! it stops at the Location Field and asks to enter location. We only have one default location and its space- no entry! In Evo it works fine, Any ideas why is this happening. Over the weekend I ran UT-K-E(this changed the default location into "DEFAULT" and UT-K-I and IT-J-E (this changed back the default loaction to "")again When I ran it the first time, it changed the default location into the work :DEFAULT" - this will cause a lot of confusion for all the users so I changed it back to space. why cant they enter PO or update already entered ones on DBA? do u have any suggestions? Please this is of great importance as all our purchasing ppl use DBA, Thanks |
Title: Re: Item quantity adding up by itself! Post by fdiala on 11/22/10 at 11:34:23 lynn, same thing is happening in SO. I cannot enter the SO from DBA or EVO, Any suggestions, please!! now we cannot enter SO (DBA and EVo) and cannot enter PO (on DBA) Its very important |
Title: Re: Item quantity adding up by itself! Post by fdiala on 11/26/10 at 09:12:54 It seems something had changed the defaults in PO and SO to require a loctation. I cannot remember what the original settings were, but after I ran the UTs above, SO and PO were asking for location and refusing to go forward. I check the defaults for both and changed the Location to "N". For some reason they changed to "R". AFter removing the "R" both SO and PO were functional again. |
Title: Re: Item quantity adding up by itself! Post by Lynn_Pantic on 11/29/10 at 09:05:40 There are Binary Zero issues with using a blank Location which was your original problem with quantitles doubling up. You should run UT-K-E again and let the system change the Location to DEFAULT. The program automatically fills it in most places so it won't really confuse users if you tell them it is now DEFAULT. |
Title: Re: Item quantity adding up by itself! Post by GasGiant on 11/29/10 at 09:44:50 "A" is a good location name, too. Easy to remember, easy to type, if needed. |
