Title: open closed po
Post by ddlong on 01/24/11 at 09:12:43

Had someone closing old Purchase Orders and accidently closed 4 that should not have been.  How can I reopen these and get back the quantity that still needs to be received?

It says This PO# has been used, and is in the PO# history.  It may not be re-used.

Is there a way I can go into maintain database and clear something out to get our open POs back?

In our test company, I reopened the PO and after answering ok to the info about it being in history, the system did let me go in and add new line items.  I'm wondering if I should just add back the quantities as new line items, that were remaining when the 4 pos were closed in error.

more testing revealed that although the system let me add lines, when I went to print the PO...it assigned it to a new purchase order number.  So guess that didn't work as I'd hoped.  Any ideas out there on how to handle a po that was closed with valid open quantities left of purchase order...should I transfer this to a new po number?

Hi Darla, I hope is not to late...go to Mfg menu, under PO-D click on Reopen PO tab and that will give you the chance to make changes..........good luck

Yes I did try that and when I try to open it the system says: you can not reopen a po that has not been closed yet. If you search for the po in PO-A, it doesn't show up, but if you type it in, it pulls it up but gives the following message:
This PO# has been used and is in the PO# history and may not be reused.  If you try to print it skips over it and prints the next closest open PO.  I think PO-D usually works if it is closed in a normal way, but when it is forced closed it must go through some other process.

Thanks anyway!
