Is there a way to set up a part# that won't allow it to be on a sales order? We have a part that we make and then it requires an outside process to it before it can be sold. We make a CB-1108(not for sale) and when it receives the outside process is comes back as CB-1108-PC (for sale). We are experiencing order takers putting the CB-1108 on a sales order.

You could use item status E, which would pop up a warning if someone tried to put it on a Sales Order. It would also give warnings at other times, so people in production would need to be informed whether to ignore it. We use this to trigger a process. The pop up can be dismissed and the item sold as long as approval is received, but it at least causes the questions to be asked.
