Title: WO Issues of items not on BOM. . . Post by TGerak on 09/05/11 at 06:46:07 Can they be added to the Master Bill on Material? We are issuing perishable tooling to work orders to build history on usage of tooling. We hope to be able to forecast requirements on a go forward basis. Is ther a way that issues to a work order BOM can be flowed up to the Item's BOM? |
Title: Re: WO Issues of items not on BOM. . . Post by GasGiant on 09/05/11 at 12:23:40 The WO BOM is specifically for a single build. Changing it is how you make a one-off or rework an item for restocking, etc. So, no, there is no built in function to push a WO BOM to a standard BOM. However, that does not mean that Allen could not create a utility for you. IS Tech rates for customer programming are very reasonable. |

It completely replaces the master BOM with the WO BOM for the parent item and is done one work order at a time. We could develop a utility to look for specific component(s) in the BOM of a range of work orders and update the master BOM accordingly. |
Title: That may be exactly what we're looking for. . . Post by TGerak on 09/06/11 at 07:08:23 We are not making changes to huge numbers of work orders, so if I have a process in place to identify the jobs that have had items added, I can run that utility. I'll test run it and see if I need to have anything specific written. |

Enter the WO# you wish to copy and click on the "Copy BOM" button at the bottom of the window. Leave the "Copy To" WO# blank, and select "Y" to "Copy WO BOM to Standard BOM?" It will warn you that you will be replacing the standard BOM with the WO BOM. Looks to be pretty straight forward. |
