We have merged with a new company and i went into AM-N and changed the periods. I then went to UT-K-D to update chart of accounts. It started at 2001. I was loged in remotely and something went wrong and it was stopped. There were no users in the system but me. Now I have no amts in the cash account in GL-A and the trial balance is off. I tested a few other accounts that seem to be OK.

Questions::: Can I restart the program tonight and will that correct everything? Or do I have to restore my backup from last night (which could now be a big problem with todays data in there). And anyway to start it at 2012. I hate to mess with prior years. Anything could happen.

You can restart the program. It will make the Chart of accounts total match the trial balance. It does not change the trial balance transaction detail.
