Title: SO-A - SERIAL CONTROL ENTRIES
Post by TwinOaks on 04/04/13 at 11:25:18

We read instructions to be able to enter our serial numbers for marked parts requiring serial control but it is not working.  Nothing prompts us to add the serial numbers.   we use our own pre-assigned numbers, not the automated.

we are in the EVO program.  Are there newer instructions?

UPDATE - we found where to setup the serial control under the default for the sales order...however, it is working like it should where it asks for the serial number, however, the system says the numbers are already used.  they are not.

we go look at the serial control file and it shows them in teh system but associated with a totally different OLD OLD sales order number.

why would this be?

I have a screen shot but can't figure out how to attach.

Can anyone provide any additional information for SO-SERIAL NUMBER?

If it says they are assigned to old sales orders, you may have to use Maintain Database on the BKARTXNS file and delete the invalid entries to make the serial numbers available for assignment to the current order.

There is nothing out of sinc in that file.

Does this feature of adding to the sales order have an option to print out the serial number on the sales order?

the new numbers are showing up in the grid when i select to "edit serial numbers", however, the information (sales order #) is incorrect and it shows an old invoice #, and ship date.    Do we just type and delete over this information?   What I don't want to happen is GL errors when the time comes to post a work order with the serial numbers.
