Our Windows 7 64-bit systems do not allow users to see the notes in AR-A. You can see the listing
on the left side, but the details of the notes are not visible. This happens whether using classic view or
GUI view. Windows XP systems can see them just fine.

Any ideas?

We are running a mix of Windows XP Pro, Windows 7, 32 bit and 64 bit machines. AR notes are visible for all of our users. Are you using the Evo Notes system? We do not have the Evo Notes System enabled.

Ditto, including Win8.

Both before and after we converted to the EvoNotes system.

No, we do not have the new Evo Notes system running.

Could this be related to Pervasive in any way? Not sure...just thinking out loud, as we
have another issue with an out of resource message that someone thought may be due
to running an older version of Pervasive with Windows 7. Not sure what the process is
behind the notes to get them displayed on screen, maybe there's a Pervasive step in
there somewhere?

That's a possibility. We're running Pervasive V11. You might also have different user log onto Evo on one of the Windows 7 machines. It will help eliminate the possibility of an issue with the user profile of the person who usually uses the affected computer.

Different users have the same issues, so it is most likely the old version of Pervasive.

If you load the current update (April 2013) the Notes are moved from the WBTRVMEMO file to a new Alpha field in the ISNOTES file so that should resolve it because that field is no different than any other.

Ok, thanks.

But what else do I have to do when I go to turn on Evo Notes (they are not using it right now).
Something like I have to edit all our report formats (a zillion since we run two companies in Evo)... what else? Is there a list of steps to take to turn on Evo notes?

As we are on such an old version of Pervasive, is the latest and greatest Evo version going to work since we can't upgrade Pervasive (but have to move to Windows 7 by the end of the year)?

Version of Pervasive doesn't matter for the basic Evo programs. There are some new Java based programs that you won't be able to use until you update Pervasive but everything you have now will continue to work.

As for turning on Evo Notes, you need to copy any RTM modifications from the T6 RTMs to the "EN" equivalent form. You may also want to think through how you want to use the notes and develop some note types. See http://www.istechsupport.com/dl/EvoNotes.pdf
