Error in posting dec 2012 deposit to dec 2013; trial balance acct reflects deposit correctly but balance sheet 2012 y/e is off by this same number ... when do entry to correct bs the deposit duplicates in cash acct.. Cash acct 1001 is overstated ..how do i correct this w/o effecting balance sheet?

UT-K-D for the cash account will get the Balance Sheet and Trial balance in agreement. Then you can make whatever adjustment you need to get them correct.

We did what Lynn said, but now we're getting a minus on both the trial balance and the balance sheet. the account should be zero.

We run the UT-K-D, but didn't make any adjustment as you mentioned because the deposit correction took place in the trial balance and adjusted the balance sheet ... did i need to adjust account and if so besides bank/cash acct what other account?

We have not resolve this problem, could somebody help?
the balance sheet asset is now out this same number (corrected deposit number)to total liability number; is there a one line adjustment i need to do. if so how do you do that in DBA

UT-A, program EDITGL will let you make a one sided entry. After you save it, UT-K-D the affected account.
