Title: Strange behavior in Routing Notes?
Post by TGerak on 05/30/14 at 07:51:04

Since the last update, we have had some instances where Routing Notes are not saving or being cleared.  It's RO-A ISTS Enhancement Date of 4/17/14.  I haven't dug into it too much, but it seems that changing a sequence number will clear out existing notes.  We also have seen cases where when setting up a new Routing, the notes entered do not seem to "stick".  It may be the order in which we're entering notes and saving.

I just wondered if anyone else has experienced strange behavior.

Thanks for the quick reply.  Our notes are also CSN.  We do have a high number of historical parts that were routed back in our DBA days.  I haven't taken the time to determine what chain of events results in a note being there or not.  I'm stumped.  I may back up the system and rebuild the notes file.

Sorry, I delete my post because I didn't think it was relevant to your issue.

We haven't notice that issue. I will do some testing and let you know. I think it all depends how evo save the notes.

A note on the RO-A is save as

"ROUTING W0378F00442-10"

Where ROUTING is the Table, W0378F00442 is the SKU ID and 10 is the sequence.

If you change the sequence number from 10 to 15 EVO does not change the Record on the ISNOTES table to 15
So you loose the note, plus you end up with an orphan record.

There were some issues with the notes in the initial release of the Windows version of RO-A but I thought we had them resolved with the 4/17 patch.  If you can identify issues that are still happening as opposed to things left over from the original release, let me know and we will get them fixed.

TGerak,

by the way have you Synchronized your notes? SM-N-C
"Classic to Evo Note"

Good thought. . . We synchronized when we first started using Evo.  We haven't created any "new" DBA notes in a very long time.

Make sure that all your employees are using the new RO-A windows (T7ROA.RWN)
Otherwise you will have to use SM-N-D (the other way around)

:P
