We had a customer make a downpayment of 1450.00 in Dec. The job was shipped in January and the customer paid the balance of 1450.00 upon receipt.

I am not sure exactly what we did. (Overpayment? Balance on account) Rachel just brought it to me and something was wrong.

The customers statement shows they owe nothing which is correct.
But AR-R (cutomer deposit payments) looks like they have paid way too much.

I tried to reverse the payment but it even got worse. AR-R increased more, but the customers statement balance remained zero on their statement. And worse GL-O shows the transactions but they ended up zero-ing each other out so that the net transaction is zero.

AR-R should be $2950.00 , but it is much more, it looks like they have made 5 or 6 deposits, but they have only made 2 .

The statement is zero, which is correct.

GL-O should show accts rec and the bank account being effected. There are transactions there BUT they zero –each other out.

I know there have been issues with Deposits on Account and overpayments. But I have only ever had one problem with this before.

Any insight to this problem?

No suggestions as to how it happened, but if Customer Account, Aging and GL are all correct, just delete the deposits in AR-N.

AR-R shows way too much because the negative invoice amount is extended to a positive amount

You need to show Deposits as Received not Applied.
