STILL testing our new system, :o our users are saying that they are having a problem with serialized items. They have 2 complaints:

First they don't like the popup asking for serial number when entering the sales order. No problem I know I can change that setting in the Sales orders defaults. Typically we do make to order, so serials are not assigned at the order entry point.

Second, they complain that Evo does not allow them to enter the serial number when they release the order prior to processing invoices. They say in this version of Evo, though they can bypass entering a serial number at order entry, if they do not choose the serial number at the order entry level, it will not let them choose it until the invoice is being posted. Right now, it is done before posting (at release?).

Is this also a setting someplace I have to fix? Please advise. they are telling me this is preventing them from giving me the OK to move us to this new version.

I asked the "Invoice" lady and she said that Evo ask for the serial number when posting. It does not ask when releasing.

There are default settings that control when serial numbers are prompted for, it can be at order entry, release or invoice posting.

Thanks, Lynn. I showed them this e-mail, and I changed the setting, but they actually made me "prove" it.
Then they remarked about the "extra step" to get the serial # assigned, but at least I think they believe me it works.

Re-hashing this one. I have not seen this myself (haven't watched them). Holly is saying even though we have the settings set to Y in both companies in Sales Order Defaults for
Ask for Lot info when releasing SO Lines
Askl for Serial Info when releasing SO Lines

She is not being prompted for this information like she was in the old version we ran. Is there someplace else I have to set something? Or are they missing a step?
There was and "extra step" in the process during testing they mentioned/complained about....could it just be that, and they are not remembering it?

There is a button to click for the Lot/Serial. You can change the default to R (Required) and it will force you to make the entry or A (Ask) and it will pop up a question.

We had it as R, and Holly said it was not working. Maybe she needs to see the popup. I will try changing it to an A. May have to watch and see what
she's doing. I know this was working in 2014.1 when we tested.

Clarification: are you referring to the Sales order setup default settings for Lot and Serial when releasing? We have both set to Y

Holly had this set at at setting that prevented what they wanted. I changed it to R and it's working like it was before.
