Title: After cost rollup told to run ES-K
Post by gtladmin on 03/15/16 at 12:19:23

Walter did a cost roll-up on a BOM (or a part?), and it told him he must now run ES-K.  Had to look that one up, no one has it on their menu.  It is something to transfer inventory from the production inventory to the estimating inventory.  We are guessing someone did / set something to trigger this, we have not had to do it before.

Why is Evo telling Walter to run ES-K and how to I change it / fix whatever might have happened?

Thanks,

Val

Nothing is broken.  If you log in as ADMIN you will have the option and can run it.

Thanks, but why does it need to be run?  I guess we are all wondering this before I do that....

Do we have to get people out of Evo to run this?

No need to get people out.  The Evo Estimating module uses a separate database for the inventory, BOM and Routing.  If you run BM-G on your production database then to make sure your Estimating database also has current Standard Costs it is suggested that ES-K be run to refresh the Estimating database to current costs.  If you don't explicitly enter an RFQ or Estimating cost for a purchased component the Estimating module uses Standard Cost so it is important that the standard cost be current.

Thanks, that makes sense now.  I will also pass along to Walter!

Thank you, Lynn.
