Title: Any way to delete a blank Lot #?
Post by gtladmin on 07/17/18 at 12:13:05

Have been asked when "Evo" (really it's a user, they just blame Evo for their mistakes)  ::) creates a blank lot number (heaven knows how), how can you delete it?  Apparently this is a somewhat frequent occurrence in Production or Shipping, not sure which one.

Thanks,

Val

Blank lot numbers in the system are tricky. I don't believe you will be able to delete it or edit it using LC-A. Your probably going to have to use maintain Database and look at the lot file either edit or delete it there. Again the name of the file is called LOT.

Val,
To delete a blank lot number, go to LC-A, enter your PN and then do a lookup on the lot number.  You can edit this field and enter a correct lot number.  To delete the selected blank lot, press F4 (function key).  You will be prompted to delete.  Remember, if you delete, your UOH inventory is now different than your lot inventory and if WC turned on, quantity will be different there as well.

Sorry for the so-very-late reply!  You're right LC-A does not work.  MDB is what we'll need to use.  I did already print the lot number table and Lo!  there are ALOT of blank lot numbers.  I really cannot imagine what the heck is being done to create these.  The users say "Evo does it!".  But I know better.  ;) They'll need to go thru and help me with the cleanup.  :o

Kind regards,

Val

You can do either 2 ways maybe can do.  If there is a PN associated with this blank lot, go to "Items-LC-A". Enter PN and then do a lookup on the blank lot.  If it is visible for that PN, select and then do F4.  This will bring up a delete dialog box and you can delete.  If no PN, you will have to do "Maintain Database" on file "LOT.BXX (XX = Company Code), find the blank record and delete this record.

Good to know, thank you. I'll have them try that first.
