Our business requires that we track returnes.and sales..currently we can't see the returns of a line item..Whe we an inventory transactkon report by item there is not way to see the nedative side e.g. returns to come to a net quanity for thet item fo that period

Have you looked at SA-M? You should see returns as negative quantities - of course they should also be show as negative "S" transactions in IN-E.
