Title: Aria Consulting Website
Post by aricon on 07/14/03 at 09:51:29

For all that may be interested:

Our new website is up and running.  There is also a section on custom application development which has a link into a page showing some screen captures of some applications that Aria has created in MS Access and in Visual Basic to interface with DBA data (and other stand-alone applications).  These application ARE available to purchase.

Please feel free to take a look.

You will need to fill out a short on-line survey in order to access the secure portion of our site, but this just takes a moment or 2.

We have been very successful in developing some very sophisticated reporting and searching applications that really extend the reach of DBA's capabilities without having to customize the program.

We would be happy to do so for you as well!

So....NOBODY is interested in finding out about the VERY powerful searching and reporting applications we have created for DBA?

Or even the custom modified (by DBA's own programmer!!) source code enhancements?

Interesting..... ???

I am totally unfamiliar with Access, so anything using it makes me hesitate. As with many DBA folks, small company, lots of hats, not much time to learn something new, no matter how wonderful it may be. Now if would just migrate into my brain while asleep, I'd buy it and put it under my pillow.  ;)

Cyndee,

You don't have to know anything about Access to use our applications.  We guide you through the fairly simple and painless process of setting up the ODBC connection on your server and on your client computers and then you just run the applications.

Here is a screenshot of one of the apps we have designed.  This is for inventory searchability via "sub-string" values.  What this refers to is parts of the description for instance - say the full description in Description 2 field (which is really helpful for specific descriptions by the way and you keep your more generic description in field 1) is "0.38 UNC x 1 - Grade 8" or something similar.  In our app you could search for Grade 8 and find all the information about that part and any others that had Grade 8 somewhere in the description 2 field.  In DBA of course you are limited to a left-to-right search.  In our apps you can search ANY portion of the fields that we have put in as searchable.

Aria,
Went to your web-site ...

My company wants to stop supporting M$ products, thats why we purchased DBA in 1997. We would like to see more OpenSource products. (e.g. DBA to MySQL with PHP and Apache).

Just a thought !

Appreciate the idea.  Just not practical.  They are (unfortunately) THE standard for now.  Have to leave the pioneering to those with more money to fight the battle. ::)

It's actully those of us with less money, that are fighting the battle ...

Small companies like our, who are are tired of paying for upgrades we don't need ....

OK ... I'm through ..... getting off soap box .... LOL
