Title: Update triggers license violation
Post by deburr on 08/05/03 at 08:38:16

Lynn,

Help!!!!

I just installed an update and my shipping dept cannot ship any more work today. The packing list program says we have not renewed our support license. What's happening and how do I fix.

Also, by installing updates, am I putting myself in a position that will cause DBA to cease funtioning in the future if the support plan is discontinued but we continue to renew our DBA license with DBA?

Glad we got your problem resolved over the phone, Steve, I will post the solution here as well in case anybody else runs into it and also to answer your question about future updates.

The IS Tech program updates also contain a validation table that must be the same version as the IS Tech programs.  In your case, at the time you were installing the update, another user had the validation table open so you received an error copying that file which in turn caused the messages you were seeing.  Reinstalling the update (or simply the file with the error) resolved the problem.

As for future updates from DBA, there would be no problem installing them if you choose at some future time not to install any more IS Tech updates.

Lynn,
I am also having the license violation in some of my modules.  I tried reinstalling the update, re-downloading & reinstalling, but still getting the violation.  A few of the modules affected:  PO, RO, BM.  There may be others.

Please advise-we need to get up and running.
Thanks, Karen

Lynn,

I am also receiving a license violation message after applying the advance bug fix for SO not saving.  Dead in the water as of now, please advise.
