Title: SO-C Field unallocated
Post by ndemarco on 09/02/03 at 14:03:39

After installing SO-C (4/25/03), we get a ...this field is unallocated BKAR.INV.CUSORD... type message. Any ideas?

Sincerely,

Nick

Are you referring to a DBA patch of the IS Tech update?  Latest IS Tech BKSOC.RUN  is dated 8/14/03 and I have had no other reports of problems.

It's kind of wierd... The file I have is dated 8/14/03 (154,250 bytes BKSOC.RUN).  I got the file from the gali2.zip archive. I copied it into our DBAMFG directory.

I can run the program in Evo, but not in DOS-ish DBA. In Evo, the version in the title bar is 04/25/03. I tried re-expanding the file from the archive and re-copying it--everything says it is the correct file.

Ideas?

Sincerely,

Nick DeMarco

Go to UT-A, run "updfile", choose BKARINV (might also want to choose BKARHINV, BKARINL, and BKARHIVL and re-structure them.

See if that corrects your problem.

Let me know.

Nick,

Could you tell me what the exact message is and how/when does it come up on the screen. There is a newer version of SOC but it is still being worked on. The Evo version is T6SOC and the changes have not been ported into it yet. That is why the EVO version is not getting that message.

In DBA 2003.4, when I run SO-C...

1. TAS creates the child window
2. A Fatal Error: "The field you are trying to use is unallocated. It may belong to a file that hasn't been opened yet, or was an array that was removed from memory - BKAR.INV.CUSORD <OK>

3. Press <OK>

4. A Warning Error: "The field in this command must be a regular field, Expressions or Constants are not allowed. <OK>

5. Press <OK>

6. The child window terminates--back to DBA main screen.

Hope this helps...

Nick

Did you try running the updfile program?

I don't think UPDFILE is the issue in this case.  But I am not sure why he is having trouble and nobody else is.  I am going to send him a newer version of BKSOC.RUN.

Hello,

I have not tried the UPDFILE--I can't get everyone out of DBA long enough. We love sales!

Thanks for your help, everyone.
