I need to setup 2 new locations for items stocked at our parts depo's in Canada and Chicago.

I'm unclear on setting up the GL codes can anyone give me a hint do I add locations to the existing codes or add new codes for the new locations.

How do you want to handle the other locations? Strictly as additional stocking locations or as P&L locations?

Just as additional stock

I need to keep track of it I just dont want it to show as available for the MRP ect.

Then the GL Accounts don't need to be any different than your other classes. Just set up new class records with the new locations and the same GL accounts or if that is the system default GL accounts, then all you need to do is assign the items to the locations.

Im getting clearing account errors with my new location.
I followed the instructions in the help file.

I added 2 clases in SM-c with the same GL info as the types I was duplicating for the main location.

I added the items # to the new location in IN-L-B

I made an adjustment to inventory (IN-C) to add the material to that location And I got an error that the system was posting to a clearing account 9999 .

The material I added now shows in inventory at that location.

did I miss something else I need to setup to avoid the clearing account ?
