It pleases me to announce that we now have a WIKI for EvoERP! Currently I am hosting it on our company website but in the none too distant future it will find it's home at EvoERPWiki.com

Please, if you have something to contribute, go there, make an account, and create some content. You must register a username to post things but you can surf it anonymously.

I've started out some content to get things rolling but there's still plenty of gaps to fill in.

Yes, things that could potentially be of use to a larger audience should go on there. For instance, discussions about how to setup ODBC would make for great material for a HOWTO on ODBC. Discussions about a hardware failure that one user had might not be good for putting on there. If it were geared into a 'how to determine whether it's EvoERP or your hardware' then it would become useful. More or less it's just up to everyone. If you think it's important then add it. If things get too chaotic and messy then I'll clean it up a bit but feel free to add any info you find useful.

Lynn has expressed some concern that the forum and WIKI overlap in scope. Indeed they do, but I think that they both have their strengths. The wiki can serve as a sort of concentrated source for information. It's more targetted toward canned information whereas the forum is a place to ask new questions. If those new questions become useful to a larger audience then they can be, in turn, added to the wiki to build up a knowledge base.

I think of the Wiki as a indexable, searchable knowledge base whose content is derived by 'boiling down' Forum discussions on specific topics.

The forum is kind of the 'rough draft' of the Wiki Content.

Sorry to anybody who is about to try to get to the WIKI. It's address is now properly set to:

www.evoerpwiki.com

If you try the old address (www.kkmfg.com/evowiki/) it will not do good things for you.

But, it's at it's current address now. So no more changes.
